Create Your Own Bergen Postcard! 🌊🏔️✨

Join us for a two-day Line & Wash watercolour workshop inspired by the iconic views of Bergen! Perfect for beginners to intermediate artists, this workshop combines two beautiful techniques - expressive pen drawing and loose, colourful watercolour.

Across two days, we’ll capture the character of Bergen while learning how to simplify a scene, create texture, and bring your sketch to life with watercolour.

Workshop Highlights:

🖊️ Day 1 - Sketch with Pen: Learn how to use pen lines to capture Bergen’s iconic buildings, reflections, and water. We’ll explore different marks and textures to make your sketch expressive and full of character.

🌊 Create Water & Texture: Practice simple pen techniques for suggesting ripples, reflections, buildings, and other details without drawing every little thing.

🏘️ Loose Backgrounds & Buildings: Discover how to simplify architecture and create a sense of place with loose, confident lines.

🎨 Day 2 - Add Watercolour: Bring your pen sketch to life with beautiful watercolour washes. We’ll explore colour, layering, and loose brushwork while keeping the drawing visible underneath.

💦 Splash & Play: Have fun with expressive watercolour splashes and spontaneous marks to give your painting energy and a fresh, artistic feel.

📮 Make Your Own Bergen Postcard: Take home your very own illustrated postcard inspired by Bergen - a personal memory of the city created with your own hands.

🖌️ Two Skills in One Workshop: Practice line drawing and watercolour together and discover how these two techniques can complement each other beautifully.

What's the agenda?

During the workshops, I share the most important techniques that we need to focus on the subject. I make a demonstration of the painting process in a few steps (typically 2-3). During this demonstration, you are welcome to ask questions, and I will explain the key details. After each step, you will have time to work on your own piece. I will circulate among the group, providing individual assistance and answering any questions.

FAQ

What if I can't join the workshop that I bought a ticket for?

- 10 days before the event: The ticket can be refunded or transferred to another event.
- 24 hours before the event: The ticket can be transferred to another event.
- Less than 24 hours before the event: The ticket can't be refunded or transferred anymore.

I'm a complete beginner - can I still join?

Absolutely. All my classes are suitable for artists of all levels. I work with everyone individually, providing personalised feedback to help you with any challenges you may be facing. If you're feeling stressed about joining the class, please let me know. Occasionally, I hold a 'complete beginner' class that may not be published yet. We can also arrange a free 30-minute introductory session or organise a private lesson.

In what language is the workshop?

The workshops are held mainly in English, but I also speak Norwegian at a B1 level and native Polish, so we can communicate in either of those languages.

Are the workshops for adults or children?

All our courses are designed for anyone aged 16 and up, unless it's mentioned otherwise in the description.

Who's the teacher?

During the workshops you will be guided by Kasia Wiercinska - experienced tutor professionally trained in watercolour art. You can read more about her background on the About page or check her portfolio at www.KasiaWiercinska.com
