Goal: This course focuses on exploring the fundamentals of visual arts, providing students with a strong understanding of colour theory, composition, and proportions. Teen artists will learn essential watercolour techniques while developing their 
creative expression. 

Participants will get to work with professional-grade art supplies, allowing you to create vibrant, high-quality artwork just like the pros!

Subjects we cover: Nature, landscapes, semi-abstract art.

What's the goal?

In this fun and engaging watercolour course, young artists will dive into the world of colour and creativity! Each session will explore different techniques, such as wet-on-wet, dry brush, and colour mixing, helping children build a strong foundation in visual art. Along the way, they’ll develop creative thinking by exploring unique ideas, playing with colour and texture, and bringing their artistic visions to life. This course is perfect for encouraging confidence, curiosity, and the joy of creating!

What's the agenda?

During the workshops, participants will learn the essential techniques needed to focus on the subject. I will demonstrate the painting process in a few simple steps (typically 2-3) and explain the key details. After each step, everyone will have time to work on their own pieces. I’ll circulate among the group, offering individual assistance and answering any questions.

Meet the instructor

Kasia Wiercinska is an artist specializing in the watercolor technique. Her passion for art bloomed in early childhood and has steadily grown over the years. Her work is characterized by the portrayal of captured memories, fleeting moods, and a deep love for colour transitions and light.

The artist pursued professional training in watercolour painting during her residency in New Zealand in years 2019 - 2020. Before that, she graduated from architectural studies, where she acquired a solid foundation in drawing, painting, and creative thinking.

She exhibited her artworks and gave tutoring to many art enthusiasts around the world, including Norway, New Zealand, Italy, Poland, England, USA, France and Vietnam.

Currently residing in Oslo, Norway, Kasia Wiercinska continues her artistic journey and actively contributes to the local artistic community. She is widely appreciated as a watercolour instructor, conducting workshops for children, beginners and advanced artists. She is a founder of Akvarell Atelier - centre for watercolour art in Oslo, She is also a leader of Norway for international watercolour festival “Fabriano in Acquarello” in Italy and one of the admins of Urban Sketchers Oslo.

Is previous experience with art necessary?

Absolutely not. The course suitable for young artists of all levels. I work with everyone individually, providing personalised feedback to help you with any challenges they may be facing. Curiosity and willingness to explore artistic fun is all we need :)
