Lofoten Watercolour Workshop: Boats, Cabins & Mountains

It's a longer workshop (4h), and we will paint on bigger paper - 28x38cm - just like last year during longer courses :) We'll have time for more in-depth practice and using a photo as a reference.

We'll paint this dramatic landscape of Lofoten. It'll be an iconic view, like a big size postcard or a perfect souvenir.

You’ll practise 3 elements - Lofoten Trio - mountains with rough textures and soft snowy patches, shiny boats and bold red hyttas. Together, these elements create a striking Nordic view that captures the unique atmosphere of Lofoten.

This session is about understanding contrast—smooth versus rough, light versus dark, detailed versus loose—and using it to create depth and visual interest in your painting.

Workshop Highlights:

🏡 Traditional Lofoten Cabin: Paint a hytte with bold colour and delicate white detailing.

Expressive Mountains: Explore texture and form with rocky surfaces and snowy accents.

🎨 Build a Complete Scene: Combine three elements into a balanced, atmospheric composition.

🧭 Learn Through Practice: Develop confidence in structure, contrast, and visual storytelling.

🖼 Create a Stunning Nordic View: Leave with a finished painting capturing the essence of Lofoten.

What's the agenda?

During the workshops, I share the most important techniques that we need to focus on the subject. I make a demonstration of the painting process in a few steps (typically 2-3). During this demonstration, you are welcome to ask questions, and I will explain the key details. After each step, you will have time to work on your own piece. I will circulate among the group, providing individual assistance and answering any questions.

- Less than 24 hours before the event: The ticket can't be refunded or transferred anymore.

I'm a complete beginner - can I still join?

Absolutely. All my classes are suitable for artists of all levels. I work with everyone individually, providing personalised feedback to help you with any challenges you may be facing. If you're feeling stressed about joining the class, please let me know. Occasionally, I hold a 'complete beginner' class that may not be published yet. We can also arrange a free 30-minute introductory session or organise a private lesson.

In what language is the workshop?

The workshops are held mainly in English, but I also speak Norwegian at a B1 level and native Polish, so we can communicate in either of those languages.
