Intense Beginner Course Part 1 | 10th May

10th May | Saturday
Time: 10.00 - 12.30 | 2.5 hours
Place: Akvarell Atelier, Oslo

*All materials included

The previous beginner course was sold out quickly and many of you asked about another one. Here you can see a techniques-only session. We’ll practice all fundamental things you need to know to start watercolour fun with confidence. To get full watercolour experience, I recommend booking also one of the 2.5h step-by-step courses where you can go through the entire process of creating an artwork. Those two meetings together will cover the agenda of a standard full-day beginner course.

Discover the joy and artistry of watercolour painting in our engaging course! While watercolour is often considered one of the most challenging techniques, our course is designed to make it accessible and enjoyable for everyone. Whether you're a beginner, looking to refresh your skills, or an experienced self-taught artist seeking professional guidance, this course is perfect for you.

Throughout the course, we'll cover essential watercolour techniques, selecting compositions and colour palettes, and using tone to create a sense of depth.

By the end of the course, you'll know how to plan your artwork, how to break it down to several layers, how to paint any scene using clean colours, avoiding muddy paintings. And you'll know that the most important thing is to trust the process and simply enjoy making art :)

What's the agenda?

During the workshops, I share the most important techniques that we need to focus on the subject. I make a demonstration of the painting process in a few steps (typically 2-3). During this demonstration, you are welcome to ask questions, and I will explain the key details. After each step, you will have time to work on your own piece. I will circulate among the group, providing individual assistance and answering any questions.

FAQ

What if I can't join the workshop that I bought a ticket for?

If you can't join, please let me know as soon as possible. There may be a waiting list, and others need time to be informed and prepare. Additionally, the studio relies on making rent to continue operating.

- 10 days before the event: The ticket can be refunded or transferred to another event.
- 24 hours before the event: The ticket can be transferred to another event.
- Less than 24 hours before the event: The ticket can't be refunded or transferred anymore.

I'm a complete beginner - can I still join?

Absolutely. All my classes are suitable for artists of all levels. I work with everyone individually, providing personalised feedback to help you with any challenges you may be facing. If you're feeling stressed about joining the class, please let me know. Occasionally, I hold a 'complete beginner' class that may not be published yet. We can also arrange a free 30-minute introductory session or organise a private lesson.

In what language is the workshop?

The workshops are held mainly in English, but I also speak Norwegian at a B1 level and native Polish, so we can communicate in either of those languages.

Are the workshops for adults or children?

All our courses are designed for anyone aged 16 and up, unless it's mentioned otherwise in the description.

Who's the teacher?

During the workshops you will be guided by Kasia Wiercinska - experienced tutor professionally trained in watercolour art. You can read more about her background on the About page or check her portfolio at www.KasiaWiercinska.com

Do I need to bring materials?

All professional quality materials are included in price, unless it says differently in the description. If you need materials to paint at home, or you want to find out what's recommended, you can check my Watercolour Starter Kit with all materials needed to start with watercolour: Starter Kit
