2-hour Watercolour Workshop: Wet Streets and Reflections

Level - Intermediate

Join us for a calm and creative online Line & Wash workshop, where you’ll learn how to capture a rainy city street full of soft reflections and gentle light. We’ll begin by sketching the scene using pen, building the composition step-by-step. You’ll learn how to create texture in buildings and trees, work confidently with perspective, and use hatching to suggest detail without overworking your drawing.

Once the sketch is complete, we’ll bring the scene to life using watercolour. You’ll explore how colour temperature and tonal values can create depth, atmosphere and contrast — and how to use them to suggest wet pavements and glowing reflections.

This Line & Wash approach is a favourite technique among urban sketchers worldwide, loved for its immediacy and expressiveness. It’s ideal for quick sketches on location and for capturing  places in a loose and personal way.

This is a 2-hour prerecorded online session, with full demonstration and clear step-by-step guidance.

I'm a complete beginner - can I still join?

Absolutely. With my step-by-step instructions, everyone should be able to enjoy the course and learn some new techniques :)

The workshops are recorded in English. The feedback after the sessions can be provided in English, Polish or Norwegian.

What materials do I need?

You’ll need:

  • Watercolour paper - 1 sheet,
  • A basic watercolour palette or a plate to mix your colours,
  • Watercolour paint in tube or pans. You don't need any specific colours as I promote a skill of colour-mixing rather than buying too many colours. If you want to see a full list of recommended colours, please chech the starter pack page linked below.
  • A few brushes (round and flat),
  • A cup of water and a paper towel.

Can I watch the class more than once?

Yes! You will have unlimited access to the video for as long as it remains online.
