Paint a Winter Card: Watercolour Workshop
Join us for a cosy and creative watercolour workshop, where you’ll learn to paint a traditional old church from the Folkemuseum in Oslo. This scene can become a charming winter card for someone special, or a personal postcard memory from Oslo. We’ll explore how to capture glowing windows, peaceful snowy weather, and the magical atmosphere of winter evenings. Don’t worry if sketching feels tricky – a prepared guide drawing will make it easier to follow along.
What You’ll Learn:
❄️ Snowy Atmosphere: Use soft washes and textures to paint falling snow and frosty details.
✨ Glowing Windows: Discover simple techniques to make light shine warmly from inside the church.
🎨 Winter Colours: Learn how to balance cool blues and whites with the warm glow of light.
🏰 Old Church Character: Add charm and depth to the traditional Folkemuseum church with layers of detail.
🖌 Take Home Your Artwork: Finish with a beautiful winter scene – ready to keep or send as a card.
Whether you're a beginner or have experience with watercolours, this workshop will inspire and guide you.

What's the agenda?
During the workshops, I share the most important techniques that we need to focus on the subject. I make a demonstration of the painting process in a few steps (typically 2-3). During this demonstration, you are welcome to ask questions, and I will explain the key details. After each step, you will have time to work on your own piece. I will circulate among the group, providing individual assistance and answering any questions.

FAQ
What if I can't join the workshop that I bought a ticket for?
If you can't join, please let me know as soon as possible. There may be a waiting list, and others need time to be informed and prepare. Additionally, the studio relies on making rent to continue operating.
- 10 days before the event: The ticket can be refunded or transferred to another event.
- 24 hours before the event: The ticket can be transferred to another event.
- Less than 24 hours before the event: The ticket can't be refunded or transferred anymore.
I'm a complete beginner - can I still join?
Absolutely. All my classes are suitable for artists of all levels. I work with everyone individually, providing personalised feedback to help you with any challenges you may be facing. If you're feeling stressed about joining the class, please let me know. Occasionally, I hold a 'complete beginner' class that may not be published yet. We can also arrange a free 30-minute introductory session or organise a private lesson.
In what language is the workshop?
The workshops are held mainly in English, but I also speak Norwegian at a B1 level and native Polish, so we can communicate in either of those languages.
Are the workshops for adults or children?
All our courses are designed for anyone aged 16 and up, unless it's mentioned otherwise in the description.
Who's the teacher?
During the workshops you will be guided by Kasia Wiercinska - experienced tutor professionally trained in watercolour art. You can read more about her background on the About page or check her portfolio at www.KasiaWiercinska.com
Do I need to bring materials?
All professional quality materials are included in price, unless it says differently in the description. If you need materials to paint at home, or you want to find out what's recommended, you can check my Watercolour Starter Kit with all materials needed to start with watercolour: Starter Kit
